Our story
More than barbecue. An Atlanta family legacy.
For generations, the Wyatt family has been connected to Atlanta barbecue. Oscar Wyatt has worked in barbecue since the 1960s, and he and his brother Henry opened their first restaurant on Gordon Road in Atlanta. At one point, the family operated six restaurants.
Around 1983, Sgt. Wyatt's Country BBQ made its home near Wyman Street and Memorial Drive in Kirkwood. More than four decades later, the restaurant remains family operated, serving longtime customers, new neighbors, and another generation of Atlanta.
